International Authentication Association

In February 2013 the International Authentication Association (IAA) merged its membership into the International AntiCounterfeiting Coalition (IACC). This merger combines two of the foremost membership organizations focused on anti-counterfeiting.

IAA and IACC

The International Authentication Association (IAA) was originally formed in 2007. Since its formation, the IAA has been active in raising awareness to the issues of counterfeiting and in educating various stakeholders about the importance of authentication methods and technologies. This was achieved through participation at a wide range of conferences, the publication of articles in various industry publications, and responding to requests for comment to a number of government legislative initiatives.

The IACC is a Washington, D.C.-based non-profit organization devoted to combating product counterfeiting and piracy. Formed in 1978, the IACC is comprised of a cross section of business and industry from the automotive, apparel, pharmaceutical, software, entertainment, and consumer products sector, including many of the world's best-known brands. The touchstone of the IACC's mission is to combat counterfeiting and piracy by promoting laws, regulations and directives designed to render the theft of intellectual property undesirable and unprofitable.
